Thoughts on our first month

Your support has been a huge source of encouragement to us over our first month as a brick-and-mortar store.

We've already found new homes for over 500 books to more than 100 unique customers in just our first few weekends. Our sales so far have more than met our expectations, and they're a continuing reminder that Murray is a community willing to support a community bookstore.

The opening months of any new small business are the most crucial, and we're so appreciative of the support you've already shown us. There are four major ways you can continue to demonstrate that incredible support:

Donations

We run a used book store for a reason. Finding well-loved books a new home is the central part of our mission. While we don’t yet have a trade-in store credit program in place, we are currently accepting book donations. We'd be delighted to accept any and all of your donations at our store during opening hours on the weekend and can also schedule a time and place for a book pickup anywhere in Western Kentucky or West Tennessee.

Gift Cards

The holidays are the busiest time of the year for bookstores, and gift cards are an amazing way to support us during these important early months. We'll have gift cards of any amount available at the front counter starting Friday evening.

Social Media

We regularly post about our journey of opening an independent bookstore on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. We'd love for you to follow along and share our content to help our audience grow here and on our other platforms. You can even take a photo under our lobby book arch—and tag us too.

Reviews

Leave a review of your experience at Bolin Books on Facebook or Google. Reviews are a great way to help people discover our store, and we'd love to hear about what you enjoyed. We recently received our first official review, and it meant the world to us.
